Surroundings
Youghal & District Nursing Home is set in 4 acres of gardens, lawns
and walkways. There is plenty of room to relax indoors or stroll around
our wheelchair access landscaped gardens. Our two storey building with
52 bedrooms has spacious entrance halls and living rooms, including four
sun rooms encased in glass which provide panoramic views of the local countryside
and bay. Wide access lifts ensure all residents can enjoy the facilities
on both the ground and first floor. The decor and furnishings throughout
have been carefully chosen by qualified occupational therapists and interior
decorators to create hotel standard accommodation while at the same time
providing a restful home for our residents. Visitors, family and friends
are welcome at all times and kitchenette facilities are provided for them
to prepare a cup of tea and snacks if they so wish
Bedrooms
Youghal Nursing Home has a range of spacious rooms to suit every need,
beautifully furnished with remote controlled electric profiling beds
and pressure relieving mattresses to ensure a restful nights sleep.
Each room is equipped with a nurse call system that can only be answered
in the room and has a recorded answering time. Satellite, flat screen
TV, telephone and broadband access are as standard, and every room
has en-suite level access shower facilities.
Hairdressing
The professionally fitted, fully equipped hair salon and beauty room,
provide a much loved pampering session, hair, nails and make up if
so desired, but is often used by those wanting no more than a good
'chin wag' and a cup of coffee. Our extensive library with internet
access, has a much varied range of books in normal and large print
Restaurant
Dining at Youghal & District Nursing home is an experience in itself.
Our qualified Chefs provide fresh and healthy balanced meals with all
produce sourced locally (where possible) we cater for any dietary requirement
or special need. A wide selection of cuisine is provided to suit every
palate and menus are changed daily. Private formal dining between residents
and family to celebrate a birthday for example can also be provided by
separate arrangement.
Other Activities
Group activities such as bingo, card playing, bridge and musical events
are organised daily with emphasis on family members and friends joining
in as much as possible. 'Go For Life',a new program recently developed
by the HSE to promote exercise for all ages is run daily by qualified
staff. Youghal & District Nursing Home has its own Oratory, open
to residents of all religious denominations. Mass is celebrated regularly,with
Church of Ireland services by appointment.

situations ie.Long Term, Short Term, Post-Operative, Convalescent,
Respite & Palliative Care.
- State Support (Subvention) is available to help meet the cost of
Nursing Home Care.
- Tax Relief is available to the person/s paying for the case of a
relative at their higher rate of tax ie. 20%/40%.
